20:54 GMT, November 16, 2009 FALLS CHURCH, Va. | CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded the company a task order to support the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Program Office, PMS 501. The task order, which has a one-year base period and four one-year options, has an estimated total five-year value of $169 million. The task order was awarded under the SeaPort Enhanced indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which was originally awarded to CSC in April 2004.

Under the terms of the task order, CSC will provide program, business and financial management; systems and life cycle engineering and support; and production planning for LCS seaframes and combat systems currently under construction by Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics. Services will support the LCS Program Office, PMS 501's mission to develop, build and test littoral combat ships, which are small, maneuverable surface combatants intended for operations close to shore.
