The EDS MILIPOL French company is an executive organizer of the exhibition.
MILIPOL has become one of the world’s largest venues for showcasing various types of special-purpose weapons and equipment.
MILIPOL exhibitions have been held since 1984. They are visited by specialists as well as representatives of state political and military bodies, and business VIPs. The organisers estimate that this year’s exhibition will see over 26,000 business visitors and 58 official delegations.
Current problems of international terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, smuggling and taking of hostages have assumed a global scale. Special operations forces are the principal means for solving these problems, always requiring more advanced and effective equipment. In line with this trend the FSUE "Rosoboronexport” is poised to satisfy foreign customers’ requests and requirements at the maximum by supplying Russian-made special-purpose weapons, ammunition and equipment. The Enterprise can also offer cooperative projects covering joint development, production and global marketing of such products.
The Rosoboronexport stand provides ample information on individual protection kits effectively employed by Russian special-purpose forces in real-life anti-terrorist operations. Among these exhibits one will see individual protection means made by joint stock companies “FORT Tekhnologia” and NPSF “Shturm – snaryazheniye i ekipirovka” (research and production specialised firm “Assault – outfit and equipment”).
Visitors to the FSUE Rosoboronexport stand are offered promotional brochures, booklets and posters with basic data on the most competitive new brands of infantry and special-purpose small arms.
Visitors' interest is traditionally attracted to such world-renowned models of highly effective small arms as the upgraded 5.45-mm and 7.62-mm Kalashnikov assault rifles and machine guns, VSS and SVD/SVDS sniper rifles and ammunition to them.
A special place in the Rososboronexport exposition is dedicated to the “SCATT USB”small arms shooting trainer that simulates firing from various models of the Kalashnikov assault rifle and the PM pistol, both indoors and outdoors. The trainer allows shooters to reduce their marksmanship mastering programme by 3 to 4 times.
The Rosoboronexport stand will also showcase export versions of hand-held and man-portable antitank grenade launchers as well as grenade launching systems among which the AGS-30 merits special reference. It is a light-weight, compact and handy, highly efficient weapon designed to engage with fragmentation munitions enemy manpower and soft-skinned materiel positioned in the open or in shelters.
Experts of the Enterprise will brief visitors on various military and special-purpose equipment used by security forces to maintain law and order in the interests of the state and public, and will distribute promotional materials about them. Items thus promoted include the GAZ-2330 “Tigr”multi-purpose cross-country vehicle, “Lavina-Uragan” and “Shtorm” anti-riot armoured vehicles equipped with a water jet cannon, Ka-226 and “Ansat” light multi-purpose helicopters, and “Dozor” remotely piloted air surveillance systems.
Besides them, the exhibition would allow Rosoboronexport to present other Russian-made export versions of arms and military equipment. Exhibitors and visitors can obtain full information about a wide range of equipment items needed to set up an integrated littoral control system. It includes such systems as the “Podsolnukh-E” over-the-horizon surface-wave radar, “Komor” and “Komor-1” submarine detection stations, and “Anapa-ME” combat diver detection sonar. Worthy of special mention among others are the “Kredo-1E” unified ground moving target detection radar and “Fara-1” portable group target detection and weapon aiming radar, for being capable of operating by day and night in any season and in zero optical visibility conditions.
The Rosoboronexport stand will showcase also innovative developments, such as:
• “Lqtest-2,8” closed-volume dangerous liquids sensing device;
• “Foxy-Lab” hazardous air pollutants sensing device;
• fire-suppressing coating, fire-suppressing stickers to protect electrical devices from inflammation.
Samples that are exhibited at the stand represent only a small fraction of products marketed in a rapidly growing security equipment market of Russia as well as in the topical segments of the world arms market.
By participating in the exhibition Rosoboronexport demonstrates Russia’s high export potential in the field of special-purpose weapons and equipment and its determination to strengthen cooperation between countries, members of the international community, countering international terrorism.
