For the first time the recently acquired business lines of BVR Systems Ltd., will be a part of the Elbit Systems' display
19:15 GMT, November 30, 2009 Elbit Systems Ltd. will feature a full lineup of its next-generation training and simulation solutions at the upcoming I/ITSEC exhibition (booth #1125), set to take place in Orlando Florida, from November 30 to December 3, 2009.
At the show, Elbit Systems will present for the first time the training and simulation systems and solutions of BVR Systems Ltd., whose assets Elbit Systems recently acquired.
Elbit Systems will present a full spectrum of simulation capabilities, emphasizing joint collective training, live and embedded training, anti terror and HLS oriented solutions. The display will include a demonstration of an HLS training system combined with BEST – Elbit Systems simulation infrastructure, chosen by the Israel Ministry of Defense as the national simulation infrastructure of the Israel Defense Force's (IDF) ground, air and joint simulators & training systems.
In addition to being the major supplier of training and simulation systems to the IDF, Elbit Systems' simulation solutions support the most prestigious military forces in the world. Based on decades of accumulated, across-the-board experience in C4I, sensors, ISR and other key technologies, Elbit Systems together with the legacy of newly acquired BVR assets, answer the need for training transformation that meets customers' growing demand for full spectrum, joint training missions.
Among the systems featured in the Elbit Systems booth:
MTC - Mission Training Center
The "Mission Training Center" is a unique system that enables linked training between various trainees and platforms, including different platforms of the Air Force as well as at an interoperable level and ground controllers. With this system, teams are able to train in formations of pairs and foursomes in all operational aspects of the operational tasks. The sessions are fully supervised by flight instructors, who are able to take a central part in the training sessions. The system enables integration with other training systems, such as trainers for UAV operators and ground forces. The system also enables connection among different training centers, separated geographically, by using standard interfaces with minimum transport delay between sites. The system's high fidelity and its near-to-eye visual capability allows training sorties onboard the trainers instead of the fighter jets, thus allowing maximized use of existing resources.
EHUD AACMI - Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation System
EHUD (a legacy of BVR Systems), is a complete and fully Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) system. EHUD offers a unique combination of airborne combat training coupled with advanced ground-based capabilities. EHUD is effective for Air-to-Air, Air-to Ground and EW training/debriefing and supports an unlimited number of live participants networked through the patented data-link protocol. EHUD is packaged in an air-to-air training missile shell, which can be easily transferred from aircraft to aircraft.
EVA - Embedded Virtual Avionics for Trainer Aircraft
EVA (a legacy of BVR Systems) installed on a basic or advanced trainer aircraft, transforms the aircraft into a virtual advanced fighter while maintaining the hourly training costs of a trainer. The EVA virtual avionics suite is designed to shorten the large training gap which exists today between trainer and modern fighter aircraft. EVA is manufactured in a minimal integration configuration, thus cutting integration costs within the aircraft virtually to zero.
TARGO - Helmet Mounted Avionics (HMA) Solution for Trainers
The TARGO HMA solution for Trainers, developed and produced by Elbit Systems, is part of a new product family that implements "Helmet Mounted Avionics" (HMA) technology. The HMA solution is designed to be utilized at any required level of integration. Very simply integrated into any aircraft’s avionics, TARGO provides all the benefits of prior HMDS including helmet visor projected imagery and symbology, precision head tracking and cueing, and also provides avionics upgrade for new existing capabilities. In addition, the system provides upgrade of avionic capabilities such as navigation, audio and video recording, training, simulation and mission management. These capabilities come with minimal hardware modifications and lower cost while maintaining safety. TARGO can be uniquely tailored to each customer’s aircraft needs. Applications include fighters, trainers and cargo platforms as well as para-public, SAR, police and other emergency services.
IFEWS - In Flight Electronic Warfare Simulator
The IFEWS (a legacy of BVR Systems), is a complete, autonomous, on-board threat-environment training and safety suite, capable of simulating the EW suite and virtual threats range. The IFEWS on-board simulation system maintains a virtual range of ground, naval and airborne threats. During flight, the virtual and the real threats are presented to the pilot through the real or simulated EW suite. Threats are placed on the terrain and behave according to smart doctrines and aircraft actions (maneuver, decoys dispensing etc.)
LCTS - Land Live Training System
The Live Training system (LCTS) is designated to train a brigade combat team including infantry forces, armored forces and support forces (artillery and air defense). Virtual elements are integrated into the laser based live training for enriching the battlefield display, as well as video capabilities for improving control and debrief. The live training system is mobile and can be rapidly deployed in various training areas and enables training in urban scenarios as well. The capability to execute a training activity in the area itself, while utilizing the operational weapons and platforms, without using live ammunition, allows the trainee to acquire experience and skills in field conditions while saving training time and ammunition costs.
HLS2 - Homeland Security Simulation
The HLS2 system enables training, operational mission rehearsal and security planning, as well as doctrine and procedural evaluation and development for first responders, emergency agencies such as police, rescue & fire fighters, medical care, NBCR teams, local & state authorities and control room commanders in complex urban environments, handling diverse catastrophic situations.
NCMI - Naval Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation
The NCMI System (a legacy of BVR Systems), instruments the different combat systems and stimulates superimposed detections of virtual targets while displaying actual detections on the operational systems. The coherent exercise situation is distributed via a dedicated Data Link simulation network to all participants. The NCMI solution was designed by naval officers in order to achieve high level warfare training. The NCMI is a full scale ready to run on-board training system. The NCMI provides a cutting edge on-board training system both ashore and at sea.
Elbit Systems operates in the Trainers market in all military activity areas, for air, land and sea, in Israel and worldwide. The Company relies on its cutting-edge technological capabilities, especially in the software development area for complex systematic projects, and on its worldwide leadership in military platform upgrades. Elbit Systems' virtual environments replicate actual combat equipment, systems and munitions, transforming training to reality. Connecting all levels of operational forces, both in simulators and onboard actual platforms and enabling them to share the same arena, these systems allow interaction reflecting action in the actual battlefield. They provide the tactical distributed mission training and collaborative mission planning necessary to create interpretive, responsive and agile forces that will overcome the challenges ahead.
