18:11 GMT, May 25, 2010 BEIJING | As Xinhua reported, China and Macedonia vowed to strengthen military relations during a meeting between senior military officials of the two sides here Monday.
China and Macedonia's friendly relations have undergone steady development since the normalization of bilateral ties, said Xu Caihou, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, in a meeting with Macedonian Defense Minister Zoran Konjanovski.
China and Macedonia forged diplomatic ties in October 1993.
Xu said China hopes to work with Macedonia to strengthen political mutual trust and expand reciprocal cooperation to promote comprehensive development of bilateral ties at various levels and in various fields.
Progress has been made in China-Macedonia military relations with increased and enhanced high-level visits and fruitful cooperation in personnel training, Xu said.
China hopes to further boost military exchange and cooperation with Macedonia, he added.
Konjanovski said the Macedonian Defense Ministry attaches importance to cooperation with the Chinese Defense Ministry and is ready to make further efforts to consolidate and promote the growth of friendly relations between the two nations and their armed forces. (Xinhua)
