During a recent IAF conference Maj. Gen. Ido Nechushtan discusses use of cyber warfare in IAF missions
15:03 GMT, January 27, 2012 Israeli Air Force (IAF) officials participated in a conference dealing with cyber warfare earlier this week. Air force intelligence personnel that participated in the conference discussed cyber warfare as a new battlefield and even explained that many operational events would not take place without network use.
Most of the topics discussed at the conference are classified, though it can be understood cyber warfare involves a variety of fields and bodies.
Head of air force intelligence spoke at the conference and said, "Use of cyber greatly contributes to intelligence, though I cannot further elaborate. Some things are better left to the imagination. This is a new intelligence language and we are quickly learning how to incorporate it as part of traditional intelligence gathering methods."
Air Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Ido Nechushtan said at the conference that "We must pioneer in taking on these new methods. The IAF has been a computerized, high-tech power for years, and this will remain true as we incorporate these new fronts." He stressed that "We must see how this new field consolidates with the air force's missions."
