Germany will not cut Eurofighter numbers

11:07 GMT, November 17, 2008 German Secretary of Defense Franz-Josef Jung confirmed at a media event in Berlin that Germany stick to its plans to introduce 180 aircraft. He also rejected demands of other German political parties for cuts in Eurofighter procurement and argued "before one would pay for compensations, it makes more sense to rather take the aircraft".

Jung also confirmed that he wants the talks with the other partner nations on Tranche 3 to be concluded in spring next year.
