11:19 GMT, January 13, 2009 Moscow | Russian Northern Fleet naval task force has berthed yesterday at Syrian port of Tartus. The naval task force from the Northern Fleet, led by the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier and including the Admiral Levchenko destroyer and Nikolay Chiker logistics support ship, is currently on a tour of duty in the Mediterranean.

The naval group had carried out joint exercises with the Turkish Navy and would return to its duties in the Mediterranean Sea after visiting Tartus, Syria.
