Saab delivers simulator for the German GTK BOXER armoured vehicle 

16:14 GMT, September 7, 2009 Saab has been awarded a contract from the German Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) for development and serial deliveries of the BT46 simulator for the German AGDUS training concept (a dual-simulator training system). The simulator vill be used for the GTK BOXER armoured vehicle, equipped with the remote weapon system FLW 200. The AGDUS application will also be used together with the FLW 100 version. Saab was selected as the only manufacturer for this kind of simulator.

The project plan is tight, with delivery of four preserial systems for tests and qualification in November 2009, and serial deliveries of 127 systems during 2010-2011.

The BT46 two-way simulator has shown itself as a unique system, that can be adapted to meet a huge variation of needs The BT46 simulator will be adapted to different vehicles such as GTK BOXER, EAGLE, DINGO 1 and 2, GRIZZLY, MULTI A3 FSA and FUCHS. Saab has supplied BT46 simulators for AGDUS for the vehicles Leopard, Marder, Luchs, Wiesel MK, Wiesel TOW and Fennek as well as the helicopter PAH-1 and anti-tank weapons Milan and Panzerfaust 3. The AGDUS GTK BOXER simulator is based on the standard Saab BT46 units adapted for both gunnery and Combat Training.
